Asian American Zine Festival

Asian American Zine Festival was founded in the fall of 2024 by five Asian American zine makers based in Seattle. We aim to create free art spaces for our community, foster independent publishing, and connect zine-making to it’s political history.

Our events include:

  • A community planning meeting in the winter of 2024 to brainstorm the festival, including a group collaging activity, zine archiving, and discussion.

  • Seattle’s first Asian American Zine Fest in June 2025, which brought in over 400 people, 30 artists, and multiple community organizations and speakers. The festival was sponsored by the CID Coalition, 4Culture, and the Seattle Public Library.

  • Zine making workshops with Friends of Little Saigon, the Fishbowl, and VietQ. These free workshops teach zine folding techniques, collaging, and how to scan your zine to digitize it.

The next large scale Asian American Zine Festival is coming September 2026.
